Project description:
COM Acesso / UFRGS in partnership with Assistiva – Tecnologia e Educação, installed in the Gasometer Square in Porto Alegre (Brazil) the first Alternative Communication board to mediate in the communication of children in play areas.
One of the pillars of the development of communication is intervention in natural contexts. One of those common and natural contexts is recreational parks. The moment of play in the parks is full of opportunities for relevant and meaningful interactions that help the development of speech and socialization. Hence, this initiative that has been launched in a pioneering way in Brazil allows intervention, communication and the establishment of social relationships for children with speech limitations in the park’s own playful environment.
